Arts – It’s no wonder that so many people have searched and clicked on the word “arts” when they are reading the L.A. Loft Blog. ¬†Downtown Los Angles is the center of arts in Los Angeles; that’s why Downtown has it’s own Arts District, which once was a neighborhood known for¬†big, cheap defunct warehouses converted into live-work rental lofts where artists could create¬†big projects at lower cost. ¬†The Arts District has since transformed into an up-and-coming neighborhood, now come¬†into its own as the¬†world renown epicenter of creativity and modern¬†culture.

The words “Buyers agent” are¬†popular on the LA Loft Blog because our team started off as buyers agents, helping renters and buyers to find lofts in Downtown.

New Lofts came onto the market this past weekend in Downtown Los Angeles. ¬†Corey’s team has been following the construction of this warehouse conversion. ¬†Many past blogs have been written to promote these new lofts. ¬†These lofts are located in¬†one of the hottest up-and-coming urban neighborhoods in the country. ¬†Out of the 5,000 units under construction in Downtown Los Angeles, the new loft units only represent about 1% of the total! LINCOLN HEIGHTS – Larger Industrial Downtown Lofts at Lower Prices

The Lincoln Heights neighborhood in Los Angeles is technically not in Downtown, but offers Downtown lofts at lower prices. ¬†¬†Lincoln Heights is considered to be the oldest neighborhood in Los Angeles outside of Downtown, dating to the 1830s. ¬†Located by¬†Chinatown, Elysian Park, Montecito Heights and Boyle Heights, the area is perched on bluffs above the Los Angeles River and it was originally home to some of the city’s wealthiest residents. The early residents built a large number of¬†Victorian¬†mansions in the district (many of which have been preserved under the city’s¬†historic preservation¬†program).

Lincoln Heights¬†is known for it’s beautiful Park. ¬†It was one of Los Angeles’ first parks. ¬†The park contains a large lake (Lincoln Park Lake, originally East Lake), a recreation center, a senior center, a playground, picnic tables, and ball fields.

Also in the area is the world renowned Brewery Lofts Artist Colony, the worlds largest artist loft rental complex. ¬†The Brewery Art Colony, has been called the largest live-work artists’ colony in the world. The compound sits on twenty-one former warehouses with an old Edison power plant chimney dating to 1903; it contains house work studios, living lofts, restaurants¬†and galleries.

The Brewery Art Walk is a twice-annual free event showcasing Los Angeles artists selling fine art at studio prices.  Artists open up their homes to the public and allow them to browse and purchase their artwork in their lofts.

The Brewery Art Colony consists of three and hundred twenty oversized artist lofts converted from the former Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery. Zoned for live/work, the lofts house hundreds of artists working in dozens of media ‚Äď from painting, sculpture and photography to industrial design, architecture and experimental new media.

The project includes vegetation, trees and an irrigation system.  The park is lit with solar lights, and includes bridges, drinking fountains and a bike stop for pedestrians.

New lofts recently went up for sale.  Thousands showed up to see the new lofts.  The first release of 15 lofts sold out in less than two weeks.  The highly anticipated completion of these new lofts were shown to real estate brokers and their clients.  These lofts are located in one of the hottest up-and-coming urban neighborhoods in the country.  Out of the 5,000 units under construction, the new loft units for sale only represent about 1% of the total!   • Urban Radish is an upscale and local grocery store next to Church & State in Downtown Los Angeles; while it is small, it features everything you would need to make a meal from vegetables and fruit to dairy, cheeses, seafood, and meats (it is kind of like an independent Bristol Farms); prices are about what you would expect for this type of store; a few items do feel very pricey; their fresh fish selection is small, but Urban Radish does feature nice looking US Choice beef (around the same prices or maybe a little less than Bristol Farms), a good variety of cheeses and several cured meats.
