On Your Mark.  Get Set.  Go!
Excitement is in the air. The race is on for DTLA properties as the countdown timer has started toward the multi-billion dollar preparations for the Olympics coming to town 10 years from now.  Loft Blog readers have already started calling to get advice on finding the best locations early for short-term rentals and long-term real estate opportunities for investors. They want to take advantage of the huge global event that will take place partly right here with venues in Downtown Los Angeles and surrounding communities.  #olympics #dtla #lofts

The L.A. Convention Center, Staples Center and Nokia Theater will host several competitive events, and the athlete will be staying in nearby USC Village, which will become Olympic Village.  Hotels will be booked up solid for weeks, with loft landlords reaping the financial benefits of loft-loving athletes, their relatives, and tens of thousands of fans who will descend on the Downtown LA Area.  Some of them will no-doubt fall in love with the walkable urban city center neighborhood that has radically improved and transformed since the last L.A. Olympic Games in 1984.

OLYMPIC LOFTS

There is currently no such building in the world called “Olympic Lofts,” so we’ve decided to imagine one.  Located let’s say at 2028 Olympic Blvd, it’s the awesome place where athletes and others can all stay as an alternative to the small dorm-like housing units of Olympic Villages where athletes have traditionally been expected to stay in cramped quarters. Imagine trying to get enough rest for the biggest competition in the world while stuffed into a student-sized bed that’s too small. Olympic lofts would be different, better, more stylish.

Named after nearby Olympic Boulevard, Olympic Lofts are in the imagined large lofty building with a super-upgraded gym, olympic size pool and large units with open spaces, high ceilings and oversized bathtubs, showers and furnishings such as full size to California King size beds for the grand athletes.  The cool, chic, hip style with historic industrial character will make the competitors feel truly on top of the world, and ready to take the gold.

Back to reality  —  What is really going to be the best investment to own before the Olympics come to town? We’re certainly excited that the 2028 Olympic Games are coming, and Los Angeles is already gearing up to serve as host city for the third time since 1932.  Downtown Los Angeles is certain to take center stage when it comes to temporary and permanent gains from visitors, business, infrastructure and new residents that will be attracted by the enormous event.  Compared to 1984, everyone will be blown away, surprised with joy at the strides that DTLA has made as a world-class destination.

Owners of lofts, condos and houses all around Downtown Los and the neighboring areas will benefits the most from the event, its housing needs and its lasting effects such as visitors who fall in love with the powerful variety of everything in L.A.

Studio City, Burbank, Hollywood, Pasadena, Reseda, Van Nuys, Long Beach, West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice and Marina Del Rey will all boom as well. The L.A. Loft Blog is now geared up to help home buyers and investors to stake their early claim to the best real estate locations all over Los Angeles.

Downtown Los Angeles Lofts Historic Core Live/Work Industrial Cheap Fantastic Fixer

Downtown is so easy and affordable compared to some places. In West Los Angeles for example, investors will spend hundreds of thousands, sometimes more than a million dollars to remodel or tear down an existing home to make a profitable investment by creating a beautiful and popularly desirable home. The good news is that live/work lofts are much easier and cheaper to transform because the sturdy building does not need to be torn down or remodeled substantially.

In fact, decorating a drab loft and brightening up a dark condo are possibly the cheapest and most effective fixes that home buyers and investor can possible do.  There are right ways and wrong ways to do them.  For maximum return on investment, the lighting and decor should be picked out by a professional urban interior designer.  #lofts #dtla #info

NO WINDOWS? NO PROBLEM

Whether a condo has big bright windows or no natural light at all, filament lamps with dark steel pipe conduit are perfect and popular today for most historic industrial lofts because, in addition to the remarkable historic-meets-modern design, the color and style match and blend in perfectly with existing concrete and exposed plumbing.  Add track lighting and additional decorative lighting, and the natural light problem is successfully solved by the right solutions.

Lofts in Downtown Los Angeles are inherently very cool, hip and stylish due to their high ceilings, stand-out character and unique features, so the furniture and decor should match with an energetic vibe or urban chic theme.  Prominent artwork, avant garde decor, cutting edge furnishings (economical buys from Ikea usually fit in just fine) and perhaps something whimsical or DTLA-practical such as a mounted bicycle would all fit perfectly in an historic or industrial residential interior.   For dim lofts with insufficient natural light, skip the suburban Home Depot stock and instead upgrade to lighting from Restoration Hardware that will provide the substantial “WOW” factor required to make the awesome loft complete.  While a loft with amazing views should be decorated with classy, minimalistic style so as not to distract from the views, lofts that lack a nice external view should be decorated fully with dramatic art, decorative furniture and awe-inspiring lighting that provide a rich, full and eye-delighting visual experience. For a few thousand dollars or less, the boring abode has been transformed into a compliment-inducing dream loft and wise investment.

LIGHTING FIXER ALERT

Here’s a loft that matches the perfect criteria for a superior investment: a neighborhood that is transforming from blight to luxury, and a loft unit that only needs some simple touches of an interior decorator and their lighting electrician to transform from boring to brilliant, from cave-like to captivating and from so-so buy to super successful investment:
