The report on trends in median listing prices shows why listing a home in the first week of April contributes 1,400% more property views with 5% less competition from other home sellers, and results in the home being sold 6 days faster.
While urban areas like Downtown Los Angeles have some advantages when it comes to home sale timing, spring and summer are generally the most active times for real estate everywhere. For sunny Downtown L.A., where there are relatively few school-age kids, the busy real estate season spans nearly the entire year, from January 2 to October 15. Most humans avoid real estate during the winter everywhere, but those who wish to buy or sell during that time will find it to be quite efficient as winter sellers and buyers may be fewer in number, but greater in motivation, with less interference from competition.
