Downtown LA 2-Level Industrial Live/Work Lofts and Raised Bed Platforms

Hello Corey  —  Two-Story Industrial Live/Work Lofts

2-Story Lofts with Upstairs Mezzanine Bed Area
Downtown Los Angeles 2-Story Lofts with Upstairs Mezzanine Bed Area

Hello Corey, For the life of me I don’t know what the name of this specific style of loft is it’s pretty open and industrial looking and the bed area is a big platform that over hangs and has stairs leading to it that’s what I’m looking for any leads would be much appreciated! —  SCS

To SCS:  Thank you for your email.  An industrial live/work loft like Toy Factory comes to mind for you. To match what you are looking for, you either want a platform bed area with steps or a 2-level loft with an upstairs mezzanine bed area. These 2-story lofts are popular because they provide extra high ceilings and excellent bed area separation.  Many of these have concrete pillars or brick walls. Or you might just want a slightly raised bed area that provides a view through the windows by rising above the rest of the loft.  More info on 2-story lofts is at:

Los Angeles Real Estate – L.A. Loft Blog Reader Questions

Hey, Corey  —  I thought you might know the answer to this. Is there any way to get my LA county property tax bill sent to someplace other than the address of the property itself? Every year I have to  do a lot of back-and-forth with the tenants to make sure they’re looking out for the arrival of the bill, and that they then forward it to me via priority mail, etc. etc. I can pay it online, but only after I’ve got the physical bill with the PIN. It’s a drag. Are you aware of a better way to handle all that?  —  DW

Hi DW,  Thank you for your questions. I don’t have much info about property taxes, so I asked Mike and he said he does not have much control about how he receives his tax bill. He gets a property tax bill once a year.  Other buyers / homeowners have also complained about the annoying PIN problem.  To point you in the right direction, the county assessor office might have more helpful info for you by email at ttcvcheck@ttc.lacounty.gov and website:
