How to Sell Your Downtown Loft Without an Agent and Save the Commission

Downtown Los Angeles – If you’ve tried to sell your home yourself, you know that the minute you put the “For Sale by Owner” sign up (for condos, place an ad), the phone will start to ring off the hook. Unfortunately, most calls aren’t from prospective buyers, but rather from every real estate agent in town who will start to hound you for your listing.  #forsalebyowner #sellownhome #lofts

Sell Home For Cash — Why I’m Calling 1,525 People on the Phone This Weekend

Why is the Corey Chambers Team ringing up more than fifteen hundred clients, prospects, friends and family on the telephone on a Saturday and Sunday in May 2019?  Here’s a couple hints:  As the title of this article mentions, we’re not calling to tell everyone to buy a loft or to buy any real estate.  We might be encouraging sellers — but not in the way you might think.

First a quick note on why it might be time to sell.

It may be easiest and most accurate to picture the economy today as the exact opposite of the economy eight years ago.  If you were reading the L.A. Loft Blog posts from 2010 to 2012, then you were seeing that the Loft Blog was really encouraging many to buy a loft when the prices were ridiculously low.  It was fascinating, at the time, to hear how some would-be buyers said that prices were “too high” in 2012.  The reality was, of course, very much the opposite. Real estate prices in Downtown Los Angeles bottomed out around 2012.  The LA Loft Blog was spot on when it encouraged prospective Downtowners to get right in front of the wave (like a surfer does), so we could be in position to catch and ride the wave from low to high to gain maximum equity.  One of our posts even went as far as to say that buying a loft at that time would be almost like getting a free loft.  Now we know that it turned out to be accurate.  I put my own money where my mouth was and turned a few thousand dollars down into hundreds of thousands of dollars of equity.  You might say that is “as good”, or perhaps even better, than a free loft. Because the economy is the opposite of those times, and some prices have begun to fall, the L.A. Loft Blog is urging those who are considering selling a loft, condo or house to hit just the right timing if possible, and to get a much more satisfying outcome than originally thought possible.

Your Referrals Help the Kids!
Your Referrals Help the Kids!

This article, like most of the articles before it, is to help buyers, sellers, landlords and renters to find the best resources, make the best decisions, and achieve the happiest results in real estate in DTLA, Greater Los Angeles and all of Southern California.  The purpose of so many phone calls is #1 to raise money to help the kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (together, we’ve already raised $3,175).  #2:  the side effect of that goodwill is the number of sellers that contact the Corey Chambers Team asking for our help to sell their home, so that we all end up helping the kids to the tune of $25,000. That’s enough to give live-saving treatments for kids with cancers — leukemia, non-hodgkins lymphoma, along with early diagnosis of autism etc.

In conclusion, just reading this article, reading the Corey Chambers real estate newsletters and taking my phone calls help’s the kids in a much bigger way than we might initially think.  Because of the newsletters and phone calls, just one little referral can turn into 15 buyer or seller transactions, which means 15 donations to Children’s Hospital.  Now that can help a lot of kids! #sellhomeforcash
