Getting off the 5 at 7th street and heading west into the arts district I was struck by all the potential on the east bank of the LA River.
There is room for some Big improvements in the area. Behold in the news a company called Big is moving in earnest to build out an exciting 2.6 million square foot complex along the soon to be reclaimed banks of the LA River in LA’s Arts District. Called 670 Mesquit, the project is designed around a set of boxes holding 800k square feet of office space, 250 residential apartments and hotels. Adjacent to the LA river which, as I have mentioned in previous posts, is undergoing a rebirth with natural enhancements. #Lofts
In other big news, the 520 Mateo just announced a super-sizing from previous plans. It’s now plotting 35 stories over the previously planned 13 story tower. Go big or go home. The Project is scaling up the commercial office component of the project’s mix of uses. At least for now, the tower is bound to be the tallest in the rapidly changing neighborhood. Taller buildings in the 50 story range are also in the planning stages. #ArtsDistrict

These projects speak to the energy of the Arts District anchored by the downtown vibe on the one hand with all the excitement of new construction while on the other hand embracing the public interest to get back to nature on the other side with the gateway to all things wild on the LA River.

Best Deals in Downtown Los Angeles – Lofts, Condos and Apartments For Sale and For Lease

Why the Best Deals Go so Quickly  — They’re Not on the Internet

The Best Deals in Downtown Los Angeles can be easy to find

Downtown Los Angeles is different from most markets because it is a relatively small urban area with a very large number of people moving into the neighborhood.  Downtown L.A. has benefited from many billions of dollars of improvements in infrastructure, business and housing over the last two decades, with much of that coming in just the last few years.   Nearly 100,000 residents have moved into the area, while no new lofts have been converted from old buildings in more than three years.  There plenty of new luxury apartments for rent, but not enough genuine historic and industrial loft conversions.  The results is that the most amazing lofts with character are hard to find. To make matters worse, many of the best deals are not in the usual places.  They are hidden like buried treasure.  How do we find the gold?

Here are some examples of amazing lofts that were bought or rented before they were listed for the public to see.  These special deals are called pocket listings, unlisted or off-market properties. #dtla #lofts #unlisted
