Chambers Team L.A. — The Big Why: What’s Our Motivation?
I had an inspiration. I had a dream that I want to go and change people’s lives through real estate. I want to help people do what I did. And it was all about helping others and changing people’s lives, impacting, inspiring, and improving lives of others — through real estate. I saw what it did for my life, and I wanted to help others to do the same thing. Since I was a child, I was always going door to door raising money for charity. I always knew that I wanted to serve the country. It’s an idea. It’s democracy. It’s service. It’s doing something that’s bigger than yourself. #coreychambers
At 19 years old, I enlisted in the Air Force. I loved being in the Air Force learning what is going on all over the world, sending and receiving America’s most sensitive military communications, supervising Air Force base data centers, navigating satellites as part of space command, via telemetry transmissions. It was one of the best experiences: I got to serve our country. I went to Japan and spent time with information technology scientists in Silicon Valley, I got to lead troops on a daily basis. And I came back. It took many years for me to buy a home. When I did finally buy a big industrial style live/work loft condominium unit, I was grateful that I was able to also help thousands of others to own a home. #losangeles
And it was all about helping others. Changing people’s lives, impacting, inspiring, improving lives of others through real estate. I saw what it did for my life and I wanted to help others do the same thing. I always tell people I want something for you. Not from you. I’m going to stand up for you because I think that home ownership is one of the great American dreams. And it’s one thing that can change your financial position. It can change your life. And that’s something I want to give to everybody. I want people to have that dream — to have those four walls that they can call their own.
I truly believe that children are our future. We all are either raising kids or we remember what support and love like that which I was lucky enough to receive. All children always need that kind of help and care that we needed when we were kids. My team and I are on a mission to raise $25,000 for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. As one of the Ambassadors of Children’s Hospital, when I go there and see the amazing kids as they are suffering from some of the worst illnesses imaginable, and how they power through it, they teach us and remind us not to sweat the small stuff, by their example of how bravely they look at the bright side of life and enjoy every minute, even when they have pain and tubes sticking out of them and carts of IV solutions, surrounded by medical equipment, prodded by needles and discomfort. They are a real-life tear jerker, an inspiration the way that they have a zest for life and zeal for moving towards a better future. They are the BIG WHY, the reason why we’re doing what we do. #realestate
When that is your main goal, then everything just seems to fall away. That the day to day struggles, the challenges, you know, there’s all kinds of challenges, owning and running and starting a business. There are many, many struggles, but every day I get up with an inspiration and it is to change people’s lives. And when that drives you, there’s not a lot of things that can get your way. You have the right mission and you have a right goal. You have the right instinct. When you have a bad day, it doesn’t matter because you’re doing something that you believe in. You’re, changing your part of the world. You are impacting human life. This is not about dollars and money. Those things will all follow. If we do the right things right. And that’s why we’ve been successful. That’s why we’re able to grow our company, team, clients to so many thousands of people is because we believe in people and taking care of others and changing their lives.
