Q: What are the dangers of using carpeting on walls?
A: Wall-to-wall carpeting, along with carpeted walls for acoustic or aesthetic purposes are not in fashion right now, but they are probably not quite as unhealthy and unhygienic as some might believe. Carpet was extremely popular from the 1960s to the 1980s, has proven generally safe. Quality carpet can be kept healthy and hygienic with vacuuming and shampooing. Of course, those who appreciate lofts tend to dislike carpet. Most loft lovers prefer polished concrete or hardwood floors.
