Arbor Day 2019

Today’s Arbor Day, but what do Arbor Day and trees have to do with the L.A. Loft Blog and helping kids?  #arborday #2019 #chla

This Newsletter Plants Trees
This Newsletter Plants Trees

Well, the L.A. Loft Blog is part of the Corey Chambers Team, which sends out tens of thousands of pieces of mail every year.  The most important piece is our monthly newsletter to help Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Unfortunately, that adds up to some trees being killed to make all of that paper.  We love trees, so we make donation to the Arbor Day Foundation for every piece of mail that we send.  You can see the Arbor Day logo inside our newsletters.  While it’s usually better to not chop down trees in the first place, we can at least be sure to plant a lot more trees than we destroy.  Los Angeles needs all of the trees that it can get!  In addition to helping kids at Children’s Hospital, we’re helping Arbor Day Foundation to grow more trees and improve the environment.  Thank you for being part of it!

Keep an eye out for our May Newsletter coming next week.

P.S. Your Referrals Help The Kids!   We are on a mission to raise $25,000 to help the extraordinary kids in need at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. We do this by donating a portion of our income on every home we sell.  Help us help Children’s.  Who do you know considering making a move that would benefit from the services we provide?  Call me at 213-880-9910 with their contact info, or have them contact me.  You can also visit http://www.ReferralsHelpKids.com.  Thank you in advance!

Introducing Edmund Ortega – Charities Lift Up Downtown Los Angeles

Edmund Bikes to Downtown L.A.

While many enjoy the occasional drive from Los Angeles to the mountains, charitable athlete Edmund Ortega usually prefers to ride his bike instead.  For years, he biked all over L.A. to The Design Center, Alta Lofts, West Hollywood and Santa Monica.  Today, Edmund Ortega holds the world record for total miles biked by an athlete over 50 years old.  Recognized as the “10,000 Mile Man” for having completed that many miles in Big Bear in the year 2018, Edmund’s miles total overall more than 200,000, much of that accomplished on his 17-lb Trek Emonda 100% carbon fiber road bike.  This Southern California native’s athletic achievements and charitable works have begun to attract  local sponsors, such as Chains Required Bike Shop and Bear Valley Bikes of his now home town, Big Bear.  #edmundbikes #edmundortega

Known for his unstoppable enthusiasm, positive attitude and inspiring charisma, Edmund has been riding the Grizley 100 KM of mountain biking at up to 7,000 ft of elevation,  Snow storms? Avalanches?  What’s that? Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays this athlete from the swift completion of his charitable contributions. Winter, summer, spring or fall — he’s not deterred by ice or snow at all. Edmund regularly handles more than 8 inches without slowing down in a 125 mile road bike coarse in the mountains.  No matter the height, his upbeat “No Sweat” attitude turns the tallest mountains into molehills.  In June of 2015, Edmund rode a record climb to Big Bear totaling 155 miles at an elevation gain of 6,669 feet.  #charities #dtla

Constantly helping others just comes naturally for him, so the charitable aspects of his excursions just sort of happened as the community rallied around him, encouraging and supporting his many lengthy rides. Edmund pursues his cycle endeavors for his own personal health and fitness, and hopes to inspire others to do the same, especially men over 50 like himself. He uses no steroids or artificial enhancements.  For nutritional supplements, he recommends the basic healthy electrolytes magnesium, calcium and potassium, which can be obtained from a healthy diet and from electrolyte drinks.

When he’s not busy riding up and down mountains for a cause, Edmund paints large murals for businesses and residences. He also enjoys playing the organ and singing as a cantor at Downtown’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.  Recently granted an honorary title of knighthood by the Knights of Columbus for his music ministry, Sir Edmund Ortega needs your help raising funds to benefit the poor.  He has also joined forces to help the Corey Chambers Team raise $25,000 for the amazing kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Edmund also helps the L.A. Loft Blog in support DTLA homeless causes such as Chrysalis.  The L.A. Loft Blog is a proud sponsor of Edmund. Support his charitable work today at www.EdmundBikes.com
