Now Available For Sale, the DTLA penthouse condo units crown the Eastern Columbia Lofts, one the city’s most dramatic structures.
After recently disposing of the first and biggest of his five eclectically adorned penthouses in the Eastern Columbia Lofts, a landmarked Art Deco building in downtown Los Angeles, Johnny Depp has sold a second unit for $3.90 million. The $1,287.50 per square foot price sets a record in the Historic Core district of DTLA.
The 2-story corner condominium unit, Penthouse 3, includes 2,400 square feet with chevron-patterned hardwood flooring, dramatic chandelier lamps, tufted lounge, bold green walls, and high ceilings. It comes with with a rooftop garden, skyline views and enclosed private terrace that provides direct access to the building’s common area rooftop deck with a pool, spa, and fitness center with a view.
The actor purchased all five penthouses for about $7.2 million between 2007 and 2008, keeping the original layouts.
It’s not clear whether Mr. Depp, 53, decided to list the properties as a result of his divorce from actress Amber Heard, 30. Real estate professional Kevin Dees, son of famous Los Angeles radio host Rick Dees, is the listing agent.
Fans say that Depp is doing the right thing. “Get rid of the stain that was Heard, the cheap skank isn’t even getting the 7 million divorce settlement LOL” spouted one online loudmouth, calling the divorce a “smart move.”
Other fans rave about the A-list actors most recent public appearance: “Congratulations to #JohnnyDepp for receiving a prestigious award for his work with cancer patients & their families” MORE INFORMATION | SOLD

Brother Andy says that Downtown Los Angeles represents the future of art.
His Grace invites us all to enter the world of a visionary. He is a Writer, Film-maker, Fine Artist, Interior Designer, Photographer and Fashionista. Provocative uber-artist (an artist skilled in over five different media), Brother Andy is a prolific auteur film-maker with over 350 films on Youtube, over 100,000 photographic images as a photgrapher, plus countless paintings and sculptures as a fine artist to his credit. His digital collage image, ‘Jesus Chimp’, is considered by some to be a masterpiece of the Intriguism Art Method (‘retro-futurism’), a creative process which he developed. The energetic creator produced highly-effective educational films for people with cognitive disabilities. A master interior decorator, brother andy helps Downtown loft owners to decorate to deliver a powerfully pleasing first impression and quickly improve the resale value when owners want to enhance the look and, feel and the ultimate selling price.
His background extends into feature films (producing hundreds of films, including six feature films in the last seven years as writer, producer, editor, and director), television (with appearances on ABC, local news stations in every Southern California major city), stage and live events, music videos and theme parks, as well as Visual Merchandising for several leading retail stores, private interior design clients and web site design. As an ‘artist whisperer’, Brother Andy has collaborated with hundreds of artists. He is also a strident advocate of nudism, feminism and animal rights. His motto is: ‘To educate and entertain, to encourage and inspire…’
The creative line for Downtown L.A. goes back to the 1970s. User-Artist Brother Andy says that the imaginative materials produced by Downtown LA are outside the box. He says Angelino artists are not deconstructionalists and not negative in their vision and works; rather they see and create a positive type of future in their artwork that is both abstratct and visionary. Compare the L.A. art scene to New York City where artists are trying harder to be seen, and contract it with artists of Europe who are busy trying to keep traditions going. His Grace says that the art culture of California is much more positive and it is about the experience. The works of Downtown artists more reflect the personality of the artists. California has so many things to do, thus myriad California adventures are part of the art. In fact, Andy says that the California state tourism board should make their next TV commercial about the artists of Downtown Los Angeles because they represent the essence of California reflecting through their work.
DTLA artists are cutting-edge, are not nasty or negative, but very upbeat according to His Grace. Beginning in the 1970s, California artists pioneered bright acrylics that are especially reflective and filled with light. Southern California, like Italy, features art infused with soft light. Artists worldwide come to Los Angeles for its natural light. Other key ingredients of the Downtown Los Angeles art scene are derived from the SoCal lifestyle: about the food, wine
— showing that the local area art is primarily about culture. Exploding in importance for the whole world, the Downtown L.A. art scene reflects a deep understanding of art and life, according to Brother Andy. He says that the new Broad Museum is different from museums of New York City and elsewhere because the modern art museum is traditional only in that it is an exhibition, and unlike traditional museums, the Broad is cutting edge regarding today’s lifestyle.
Artist Brother Andy was a pioneer in the fledgling haunted house industry of the 1970s, creating ghoulish comedy character Armando Creeper. The artist later went on to co-found a new art movement called Intriguism. See his new film just released called Dr. Invisible free online at https://youtu.be/UTxytPjkSQU.
